Temperature Converter
Temperature measures how hot or cold something is. The SI unit is the kelvin, an absolute scale that starts at absolute zero. Celsius uses the same step size as the kelvin but is offset by 273.15, while Fahrenheit and Rankine use a smaller step of 5/9 of a kelvin. Because the scales have different zero points, a temperature conversion needs both a multiplication and an offset — never a single factor.
